Our next coach may simply be the guy who can put the program back on a level where we can hire the right guy. Hopefully Cuonzo is the right guy, but he took over arguably the worst power 5 program in the history of college basketball and one that was on probation and had APR restrictions preventing roster turnover. Its not out of the realm of possibility that he serves to get MU back to a state where its realistic to hire a coach that can compete for the top 4 in conference instead of being the coach who can compete for the top 4 in conference. That would still be an admirable achievement given the context.
