MU (Odom, Sterk, maybe even the team) would wait to disclose a denied appeal so that attendance won't completely tank. I'm not even suggesting they have an answer from the NCAA at this moment, but if the appeal were denied in the next few weeks. One bowl game ban shouldn't matter in the grand scheme, but it would probably take whatever shine there is on the program at this point away for the fans who are on the fence.
