Whether or not thirty-four Republican Senators decide they’re not going to let the Democrats win this one, no matter what the evidence. Consequently the “evidence” simply doesn’t matter.
Also suspect the divisions coming out of this exercise will be so deep, so bitter and so long lasting that the country will essentially be ungovernable and little or no progress will be made on any issue for a decade, perhaps more.
