The people around him who previously fed him notes and gave him talking points when interacting with other world leaders are all gone. He's literally surrounded himself with yes men and women who are in there current capacities with little experience or acumen in what they are actually doing.

It's no wonder he said what he said to Ukraine's president, he and others thought it was smart and would benefit his campaign so go for it!

I would imagine he slips up several more times in this regard and continues to dig deep holes for himself (and fox news) to dig out.
