Yes CO2 could be a long range problem. Lets set the engineers, chemist and biologist on that problem and see what solutions they come up with that are short of returning to an agrarian economy.
Technology is increasing at an almost exponential rate but every time they release a model showing the looming disaster they assume that technology will be stagnant.
