the claim that 10-12 years from now we will have irreversibly tipped the climate in a bad direction with our carbon emissions...
No one says the world will end. Not one person. However, when our food species go extinct, we'd better find another food source or two, or we will also go extinct. (And to be clear, we will go extinct one day regardless of climate change... it just may be on a shortened time frame of our own doing.)
