blatantly wrong in '16... at least with regards to the national presidential election.
But I imagine the polls do still hold some value for political planners. The anti-Trump bias among the pollsters probably shouldn't have a major impact in regards to *which* Democrat they prefer would be running against him. Even if the polling is skewed towards the liberal West Coast & North East, if anything, that would make the numbers tend to favor the even more radically left/socialists vs the ostensibly more "moderate" Biden. In such a case the *real* numbers would indicate that Biden is more electible/less unelectible than those who would pick up the Democratic banner should Biden be stabbed in the back.
We're still far away from the actual election, but it would seem curious for powers that be in the Democratic Party to decide that their big front runner with more than double the presumed advantage (+ 11.7 vs + 5.0) over the person in 2nd place in the national polling.
Of course, their internal polling could be very different, or maybe they know of some skeletons in his closet that are likely to come out by election time, but it still looks like quite a gamble to take him out if their ultimate goal is to take Trump out.
