blower statute, according to the law, The Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act. The Act is designed to protect intel. com. employees who have "urgent concerns" regarding matters internal to the intelligence community and it's component agencies. The Act defines "urgent concerns", as follows:
"A serious or flagrant problem, abuse, violation of law or Executive order, or deficiency relating to the funding, administration, or operations of an intelligence activity involving classified information, but does not include differences of opinions concerning public policy matters."
Got that? The President is not part of the intel co. The law applies only to internal matters pertinent to intelligence operations. Whistleblowers are not protected under the act for having a divergent opinion concerning policy. This would expose the alleged whistleblower as a leaker, if he complained to anyone other than the IG.
