which means available only in the event of national emergency. Actually it is surprising to me he wasn't made 4-F as the 1-Y wasn't common at that time for asthma. I had two friends with asthma who played ball at MU and both were 4-F. Today asthma abated prior to age 13 would not result in disqualifying a person.
Additionally and although the marriage exemption was done away with in 1965 it did put you down the list further-he was married in 1966.
