We had Mack Rhoades who is arguably the least present and effective AD to ever serve in the role, then MU Interim Chancellor Hank Foley assumed the position of AD for a short while, then executive associate athletics director and senior woman administrator Sarah Reesman assumed the position of Interim AD, then Sterk was finally hired but was new man on campus when Kim was dead man walking.
I'm not sure there was anyone who could have fired Kim. It was basically on him to quit for the good of the program, and for whatever reason he seemed opposed to quitting.
