out of context? Of course Trump has an ego, but he didn't just flat out say "I'm the chosen one" as if he was comparing himself to Jesus or anything. In fact, he followed it up with:

“I’m taking on China on trade,” the president said. “And you know what? We’re winning. I was put here by people to do a great job. And that’s what I’m doing. My life would be much easier if I just said ‘let China continue to rip off the United States.’ But I can’t do that.”

I personally don't see how the US is winning in this trade war, and to me that's the actual conversation to have. Not some out of context quote.
