they schedule games in big recruiting areas. It's about building a brand, and part of what the big programs do is get their brand some notice in as many cities as they can.
Now, that doesn't mean play in Philly every year. This year is an aberration with three true road games, so you want to spread out where you play.
It also means finding a good team that will accept a home and home situation. As we're seeing with Utah, some teams don't wanna come and play in Mizzou Arena. Teams like Temple and UCF (and Xavier and ISU) are good comps.
