At this particular time, I think a lot of Americans want someone who looks the part and acts the part. That's Biden.
If he has one skill, it's his ability to play to a room of anyone. That will be key in PA (where he's from), MI, OH and WI.
The X factor with Biden is his mouth. However, again, different times post-Trump. Gaffes don't matter, although I could see some really bad gaffes taking him down for the nomination. That would be my tact with Biden if I was the GOP Machine. Create division between Biden supporters and supporters of minority and female candidates.
