era, 4 of them would have come in the last 5 years. We are currently being projected to finish 13th in the SEC by multiple respected entities.
The program that Cuonzo inherited was complete crap, we were arguably the worst major program in the nation and had been for a period of 3 years in a row. The undertaking of rebuilding can not be overstated, its a monumental and long term task. MU made a very stupid and indefensible decision in 2014, and continued on that path for much longer that it was reasonable to do so. There are consequences and fallout from that, it doesn't just magically get resolved by trying again.
We don't know yet if Cuonzo is the right long term man for this job. Early returns appear that he is doing a good job and it seems like he could be. But it is a very long road to get MU back to just a normal level.
