Mishnan Ohokt 7:6 (Oral Torah)

If a woman is having trouble giving birth, they cut up the child in her womb and brings it forth limb by limb, because her life comes before the life of [the child]. But if the greater part has come out, one may not touch it, for one may not set aside one person's life for that of another.

Exodus 21:22-23 (Written Torah)

22 When people who are fighting injure a pregnant woman so that there is a miscarriage, and yet no further harm follows, the one responsible shall be fined what the woman’s husband demands, paying as much as the judges determine. 23 If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

Exodus 21:22 shows that the punishment for the fetus dying is only a fine paid to the parents.

Someone like Spanky or MizzouTigerz will try to quote an alternate translation like this..

22 “If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that [u]she gives birth prematurely, yet there is no injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman’s husband [v]may demand of him, and he shall pay [w]as the judges decide.

The issue here is in the translation which can be clarified by the Greek Septuagint, produced before Jesus' time by rabbinical experts, which translates it more clearly as "if a woman's child goes out and is not fully formed" that a fine is levied (property crime), but "if the child is fully formed", then the person who struck the fatal blow is to be executed. This helps show the original translation I quoted is superior.

Sanhedrin 80b (Oral Torah)

"the fetus is not that of an independent entity; rather, its status is like that of its mother’s thigh, i.e., a part of its body."

Note here, the fetus is like the mother's thigh.

Numbers 5 then goes on to explain a test to see if a wife is faithful where she must drink a potion.

"19 Then the priest shall put the woman under oath and say to her, “If no other man has had sexual relations with you and you have not gone astray and become impure while married to your husband, may this bitter water that brings a curse not harm you. 20 But if you have gone astray while married to your husband and you have made yourself impure by having sexual relations with a man other than your husband”— 21 here the priest is to put the woman under this curse—“may the Lord cause you to become a curse[d] among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell. 22 May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.”

“‘Then the woman is to say, “Amen. So be it.”

This describes a trial by ordeal (not unlike Salem witch trials). If she cheated, the fetus is aborted. If not, supposedly it will live. God isn't showing a disapproval of abortions there.

Someone, probably Spanky or MizzouTigerz will try to quote an alternate translation of Numbers 5:22 saying the curse is the thigh rotting away not an abortion like this..

"22 and this water that brings a curse shall go into your [n]stomach, and make your abdomen swell and your thigh [o]waste away.” And the woman shall say, “Amen. Amen.”

BUT, as I already showed, in the quote of Sanhedrin 80b (Oral Torah), a fetus is compared to the woman's thigh (ubar yerech imo). Once again supporting the translation that says miscarry over the translation that says her thigh will waste away.

You gotta be careful with Bible translations. Some, especially evangelical translations purposely twist the text to support their theology.
