I have new banker invite me to lunch. Older white guy (knows everyone in restaurant, has his own table) and old black woman at table. Not that it matters, but banker is black (she trusts my banker)
I know immediately white guys is shady and angling somehow. introduce myself, and he says his name. just first name.
I ask his last name. he slurs out like four syllables. hmm. I ask him to repeat it, he smiles big and each time it gets blurrier. I give up...
he makes a huge event of the lunch, and it also becomes clear he is going to stick my banker with the tab.
I zero in on black lady about her dream plans, more so to see what she thinks v. what he is pitching her I presume. he has an amazing business idea for her it seems.
she also needs none of what he is selling. in fact, he adds zero to the process, but is getting a big fee.
he calls me two hours later to cut a side deal. hahahaha
and wants a loan himself, says maybe his credit is bad, from one deal years ago,but he can smooth that out.
I ask him to spell his last name. less than five letters. lol. nice diversion on the pronunciation.
and sir your credit isn't the big problem, being under indictment in about two months will be though.
he almost spent $5mm of her money on a shady deal, got arrested on another deal first. I told her in mean time she needed to focus on core business and not do crazy deals. and no bank likes middle men. if she proceeds, I can find her a developer to trust.
shady dude offed himself a while back. thankfully he didn't get another victim before he went
