Let's say whoever was screening job applicants calls Mueller and tells him - hey, we'd like to get your thoughts on the FBI leadership and what we should be looking for....
The same person tells Trump - hey, we should interview this guy and see if we want to consider him.
Mueller thinks one thing, Trump thinks another - both have valid opinions of what the meeting was.
