I helped Henry paint the place weeks before opening. I was an ambitious sort. That led to picking up some dinner shifts on the wait staff. Pretty low-key spot that become oddly popular happy hour stop that fall. I waited tables there for a while. The name you drop there, Michelle, I have no recollection necessarily. A few of us bolted from there to join the hot and sexy effort over at Henry Chow's Bird of Paradise, but he SO overstaffed that it was absurd. Good time though. Henry would sit there post shift in the dimly lit lounge nursing a glass of whiskey while we all enjoyed our shift drinks.
