next to nothing, actual nutrition has significant costs.

A few years ago I had a student share with the class that her family ate at McDonalds every night. She said the reason was simply price, her family of five could eat for less than $20. Making spaghetti and a veggie for a family of five will cost at least that and when you figure in prep and clean up time it is easy to see why many parents take that option.
