cons sometimes advise the president to admit he made a terrible, terrible mistake.
Trump did not of course make a mistake.
But the holier than thou, sanctimonious, “above all that“ with their constant advice to act presidential ... this coming from the pansies on the right is really really helpful.
If Trump were to admit he was wrong when he wasn’t, do you think his favorability ratings would increase among the socialists? Would they think, “ golly, he made a mistake and admitted it. What a great guy he is. Anyone can make a mistake. I’ll vote for him.“
Or would the feeding frenzy begin? Mr. President, here are 737 other things you should apologize for. Why will you apologize for this horrible, terrible, hateful act of racism, and not any of the other hundreds of horrible, terrible acts of hateful racism you have perpetrated over the years? You were just a hypocritical scum bag. Sanctimoniously choosing which of your horrible, terrible, hateful racist statements you should apologize for when you must apologize for all of them. And after you do that you should resign.
Good plan?
The president knows what he’s doing. I have said all along that his tweets are an excellent way to first control the conversation and dialogue, and second to circumvent the media and get his point of view out, unedited.
I don’t always agree with his point of view or his tweets. But the last thing he should do, the very last thing… The very friggin the last thing he should do is apologize to the Squat and humble himself before those four pigs.
What he did was fine, what he did took guts. What he did was course, crass, and clumsy. Like much of what he does.
And like much of what he does, it showed common sense and insight. He said what a lot of us have been thinking.
Don’t apologize, there’s no need to.
