Are we born to this earth with obligations to a parent?

Are we not individuals who own our minds, bodies, and lives? Not even our own name? Not even what we eat? Where we go to school? When we go to bed? What TV shows to watch?

Or are we slaves who, by virtue of our existence, have obligations and responsibilities that were decided long before we were born?


Who gets to decide your life? Your thoughts? Your actions? Are you not a free-standing, free-thinking individual?
