Supply and demand works regardless of the numbers. If you choose to simply inflate wages everything connected to those wages will also inflate leaving the poor in the same position they were before.
The one way to avoid the inflation is to assure that the top earners do not see an increase along with the lower earners, in other words wealth redistribution.
