KC Pet Project was putting a new place in and the original plans were for it to be next to the disc golf course and they'd have to change a couple of holes. Being the hippies that most disc golfers are, they were on board for it because they all own dogs and love animals. After it passed (a very small part due to the backing of the disc golf community) they changed the plans to take over the whole course. City is supposed to give some land to disc golfers to build a new course, but it takes years to really make a disc golf course.
