She's a great soccer player. Why do we expect outstanding, informed, intelligent political commentary from her?

Isn't being great at one thing enough?

Celebrities and sports stars delude themselves into thinking their opinion is more important or more well thought out than anyone else, just because they're outstanding at one (unrelated) thing that makes them famous.
