Arizona States pitching is very mediocre, at best, and unfortunately for them, their 3 starters are all returning. Team ERA was 4.64, and the best pitcher was at 4.14. So Preston should get a shot at some serious innings.
She had to transfer if she was ever going to pitch and contribute at the D1 level. She went from 75 innings as a freshman at Bama to 13 innings last year. And with Fouts and Cornell returning, plus a stud freshman coming in, she wasn’t going to get any playing time there at all her last 2 years.
Hard to tell if she can be an effective pitcher at ASU, since she was basically MIA at Bama her sophomore year. PAC 12 offenses are going to be tough. But there is nothing on the ASU staff right now, great choice for her to get some significant innings.
