Trump is no bargain but you naively believe government is some bastion of benevolent care and concern for the citizenry, run by honorable men and women guided by honor and service.
It isn’t now and never has been such.
It is about raw power and control of its financial resources. You cheer one team having that power and despise the other when they have it. They play the battle for control in public and hope you buy whatever cover is put on the real reasons things happen.
