I'd argue that more gun control isn't going to do anything to stop the felony shootings, since they are committing crimes to begin with, making them unlikely to comply with any new gun control laws.

Familicides are horrendous. Remember Lizzie borden? She killed her family with a hatchet. More gun control would potentially reduce this, but at a huge cost.

Namely, far more rapes, robberies from the now unarmed law abiding citizens who are defenseless. Cops rarely arrive in time to stop a crime, armed victims worry criminals more.

The small percentage of mass shooters is primarily composed of bat shyte crazy individuals that law enforcement has been aware of , but did nothing to stop.
How will more laws help that?

More gun control is a feel good, let's do something measure, that would instead increase human suffering on a massive scale, just not on a media friendly mass event level.

More people suffering dying by ones, twos is ok, to eliminate the mass event. Overall, the body count will end up higher.

Unless you have a magic wand to make 300 million guns vanish, because people aren't going to turn them in.
