We have dug ourselves a pretty big hole here. That as you claim "our emmissions have dropped" is unlikely to impact it all that much.
I got into a testy dialogue with recent college grad - former Bernie supporter in fact - about all this. My stand was that it is basically too late to really fend off the more harsh consequences of climate change and she thought we still had a fighting chance.
It is a little bit like the looming SS crisis in that in both cases we had ample opportunity in the 80s to make slight adjustments here and there to change our course and in most cases did nothing.
