Courts do not usually support fishing expeditions. So far the only justification I have heard from House Dems is ‘We want them, give them to us.’.

I keep hearing from lefties that the Legistative branch has oversight powers. Can anyone here identify which power gives them unfettered access to the president’s personal records and where that power is enumerated in the Constitution?

If they were investigating an actual crime I would support them, like with the Nixon White House Tapes. But they are wanting the documents in hopes of finding a crime. That is not how our system works.
