They didn't think trump stood a chance of being elected, and given the evil temper of Hillary, they wanted to be on her good side.
It turned out to be a poor decision.
This is why brennan , clapper are in trouble. Brits didn't volunteer, they were asked to help and it sure wasn't comey making that call.
