that this collection of documents was initially funded by a group of Conservatives attempting to derail Trump but trumpet the fact that an organization one of whose clients was the DNC.

I would have more respect if they practiced full disclosure on that and the FACT that Steele was known as the UK expert on Russia and was not in any way, shape or form, "defrocked" at that time.

More just an effort to de-legitimize the inquiry into Trump. The dossier, again a collection of independent documents, was only one part of the FISA app - it was one of many sources supporting the application. Gowdy and the Right consistently paint it otherwise.
