It's just another stale scare tactic designed to induce folks to run to gummit to fix the problem, at any cost.
I don't care about the environment in China, which is a disaster, and in a place where gov't has its hands in pretty much everything. I'm pretty sure that China, which is run by a dictator, is going to have a pretty stern method of dealing with folks who don't switch energy sources any time they tell them to.
Cali is a disaster as well, and is in a place where the gummit is in on everything. If gummit was so great at regulating ****, it should be able to clean up that place.
Manufacturing here is getting more efficient and producing less pollution. If gov't got off its ass it would probably get even more efficient.
The courts need to and can protect property rights and compel polluters to do the right thing, if necessary.
