kind acceptance of others"
I didn't see the grandfather as being unkind. It sounded like he was just being playful with them, asking them to paint his fingernails too. In years past, I don't think there would have been any issue with his playful gesture... other than if one of them had quickly grabbed his hand and slapped a little nail color on them.
I think the bigger issue that the author is getting at, and with which you most vehemently oppose, is that homosexual activity is objectively against natural law and unhealthy for individuals and for society.
The LGBT activists have turned traditional morality on its head and are trying to ramrod their immorality down the throats of individuals and of society in a dictatorial fascist sort of way.
re: the picture of the young girls kissing each other. There is an indoctrination going on in movies, TV shows & in the schools. In the past, something like that would have been quite innocent & overlooked by most. In today's climate, however, those girls may have been imitating the things they are being taught and indoctrinated with. In the past, the parents and grandparents probably wouldn't have batted an eye about it, but if someone did express discomfort with it they all could have talked about it rationally. In this instance, the parents felt intimidated, in similar fashion to the way people in communist, fascist & Nazi regimes feared a knock on the door if someone acted out of line with the state indoctrination.
