1) If US Banks weren't lending on it and they went to foreign sources; and
2) If that foreign source was Deutsche Bank; and
3) If DB got in trouble for laundering dirty Russian money
then, was there a connection? Or, was it simply that you had two parties that just happened to be doing business with the same middleman - one legitimate and one not?
That's a perfectly reasonable inquiry. The problem is that people try to spin for the result before it's proven.
