The situation remains complicated as the Players Union, the NFl, the team, the lawyers and child services are involved. The Union and his lawyers will protect his rights best they can. Cutting an all-pro player without established legal cause could make them the target of a law suit. A massive law suit.
Basically, his girlfriend secretly recorded him and set him up to say things as "insurance" if he switched allegiance to her. She gave the tape to a friend for safe keeping, who freaked out and gave it to Channel 5 and that hit nationally. At the same time Hill, had given to the Chiefs and then his lawyer shared texts this week, which supposedly exonerated him as the texts have her claiming responsibilty. The belief of many is that those two decided earlier to ride togther (their words) as coming out of the mess intact woud make both rich. Some believe they agreed to have her send the texts as a way to attempt to protect him.He claims she did it. The authorities took this text so seriously, that they DIDN't arrest her.
The DA said a crime was committed but that could be a wide range of actions. The child was removed from the home as both parents were seen as unsafe. The court will want to reunite child and parent/parents after certian criteria are met. He recently called 911 and said she was passed out/blacked out and was unfit.Basically, they both deserve each other.
Meanwhile the Chiefs have obviously drafted a replacement. Supposedly, the broken arm case is closed as the culprit couldn't be determined.Bottom line-the child was abused, has been removed from the home, and information has been produced by each parent which indicates the other is guilty. The legal system is stymied. The NFL, Chiefs etc are being very careful and proceeding slowly.
