I agree with you that move from the center is a bad thing. These last nearly 20 years have been a time of Crisis in America. That era, accrd to the writers of The Fourth Turning will be ending in the next 2-4 years, Perhaps we swing back to the center then. A guy like Mayor Pete might serve as a unifying force in that - just a guess, but not a bad one.
