Back then, we did allow almost anyone to come in. That being said, it was with the understanding we don't guarantee squat, and you'll have to figure out how to feed, take of yourself.

Today? Once in, you can get food stamps, housing, education, tax refunds, pretty much anything from govt programs for being here.

Yes, illegals aren't eligible by law. Sadly, it's also against the law to ask someone applying if they are illegal. In other words, illegals cost billions on welfare programs.
