need to put all of his eggs in local recruiting.

While he waned both, he got a capable freshman pg instead of Ramey. While Ramey has been really good for Texas lately, Pinson has a really nice ceiling. He also got Dru Smith to increase depth there.

Same thing with EJ Liddell/Tray Jackson. We probably would have taken both, but Tray Jackson is no consolation prize in these sweepstakes.

He's getting more of the local kids than we've gotten in a very long time. Guys like Cook and Snead are comparable to Watson and McKinney; kids in the lower half of the top 150 that Martin targets, I think we get. We didn't get them before.

The upper level kids are always gonna be tough, because they can go anywhere. Need to get the program back on a winning track (multiple NCAAT seasons) before we can start to see if Martin can consistently land them.
