during the season only 1 other time.
Just like at MU, his true ability caught up with his enthusiasm and he was trending down.
It amazes me how many of you still regard him as a good coach, when he is the posterboy for average.
Largely due to having some instate talent, but he recruited arguably better at Arkansas than he did at Mizzou, but couldn't produce very much with it.
Arkansas fans hated Nolan for years. His system was flash and not a lot of substance. Then he did manage to recruit one of the top 2-3 rosters in the country and that system finally did what it was capable of doing...allow elite talent to run over people. Then the talent dropped off, Nolan was re-exposed as not all that great and they hated him again.
Years went by and they seemed to forget the large number of years of disappointment and focused on the 2 years of greatness and decided that wanted Nolan again. And they thought there were getting it with Mike Anderson. If they had been paying attention to Mizzou, they should have realized that they were not getting the 94 & 95 Nolan, as Mike Anderson was not as good as Nolan Richardson.
Now, Arkansas fans are the #1 delusional fan base in the country, but they are capable of being better than Mike Anderson was. It is still a top 4-5 basketball job in the SEC.
Personally, I wish they had kept him. They might hire somebody good.
