at an early age
We all remember Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, or a Kurt Cobain as rock legends.
If they hadn't died, there's a good chance we'd remember them as a great musician that had a great 5-10 year heyday, and then toured as an "oldies" act every time they decided that they needed some money, maybe ending up with a recurring show in Vegas or something later in life.
It wouldn't be the same legacy at all
