(and George) not INTEND to be racist with their mocking of the black player. Viewed from today’s lens, it was clearly unacceptable behavior and reflected poorly on them.

In 1978, it was just a sophomoric attempt at humor that was in keeping with Blazing Saddles, SNL and other comedic works....

At the end of the day, however...it was at least bigoted and likely just plain racist.... no matter what standards are applied.
