If you don’t want to know what our transfers from last year are doing, stop reading right here lol.

Trenity Edwards transfered to Texas Tech, not known as a softball power. But she has been a big part of one of the most surprising stories of the 2019 season, as Texas Tech is suddenly a top 20 team, 27-2 record, 14 in the initial RPI. They have wins over ranked teams like Auburn, Arizona St, and Wisconsin. Only losses are to a top 10 Washington team, and an upset to a 15-13 Memphis team.

Edwards, who is Kayla Kingsley’s cousin, is hitting .403 (25-62), with 9 HRs and 27 RBIs at the halfway point of the season. TT has their biggest challenge of the year this weekend when Oklahoma comes to town.

I still don’t know where Edwards would have played this year for Mizzou, she wasn’t going to beat out Hattie Moore at catcher, and she really wasn’t suited to be a position player anywhere, so would have been relegated to DH and pinch hitting mainly. She could have been our regular DH if she learned to hit for average (which she seems to have figured out), but then we wouldn’t have seen Torres play much. But she had a ton of potential and big upside at the plate. Good to see her getting a chance to play more there.
