"As a former Barton County Cougar, Pulley was a leader in scoring, assists and field goal percentage, resulting in him becoming an All-American and Slam Magazine’s No. 1 Junior College Point Guard (2002-2003). Prior to his time at Barton, Pulley was a high school McDonald’s All-American nominee and started as a freshman for the University of Saint Louis Billikens. He later would become the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year at the University of Missouri (2003-2004)."
Believe he means PRESEASON Big 12 Newcomer of the Year. And actually his teammate Jason Conley was the Preseason Big 12 Newcomer of the Year that season. Pulley received votes for the award in the preseason along with Baylor forward Harvey Thomas and Kansas State forward Jeremiah Massey.
Pulley scored 18 points that season over the course of 11 games before quitting the team, shooting 29% from the field and 38% from the free throw line. He was certainly not named the Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Year.
