Here is why.

1) Mizzou is paying Martin big league money. He's one of the highest paid coaches in the country and he's the highest paid coach at Mizzou.

2) The guy has had two full recruiting classes to fix the problem. As we know it doesn't take more than ONE recruiting class to turn a team around. Look at last year you go from worst to the tournament.

3) Martin hasn't even inspired with his latest recruiting class. He lost the best St Louis area recruits, and hasn't shown much sign of being a strong recruiter outside of hiring Porter's dad then getting his kids to come play here.

4) The team is just flat out boring. Martin defense first approach is boring to watch even if the team had a winning record.

5) If you're a defense first coach why does this team make so many stupid mistakes? If you're coaching them up you'd expect less turnovers and lapse in judgement. This team just makes dumb mistake after dumb mistake.

6) Building off last years recruiting headlines you would have thought Martin could carry that over to this year with recruiting, fan support, buzz but nothing. The buzz for the program seems to be going south. SLU has more buzz.

7) Nothing Martin says after every loss gives you any confidence everything is going to turn around. In fact you could realistically see some of the players transfer after this season. Lets just say the Honeymoon is over.

8) As you look to the future meaning NEXT YEAR do you see anything that would make you feel confidence about at turnaround? I don't see one.

When you pay a guy like he's a SUPERSTAR you should expect instant signs of everything working out. We just don't see that happening.

So I label it the worst ever because of expectations to start to see what Martin can build here... after loss after loss and no signs of a turnaround its looking grim. I know the injuries didn't help but please... where is the turn around I don't see it. At least with KA we knew the team was going to be bad. After paying this guy MILLIONS upon MILLIONS you expect more.

To bad Martin got essentially a deal where he can't be fired or replaced. If Mizzou suffers another season like this you might just have no choice but to fire him and look for another coach.
