suggests 50% of illegal crossings will be prevented. Most illegals come here legally and overstay.
Drugs come overwhelmingly through ports of entry.
How many lives are we talking? The sad fact is, we have a finite amount of money to "fix" this problem. That money is better used at ports of entry to detect narcotics, as drugs kill far more people than murderous, blood-thirsty immigrants.
And, of course, if we are occupying the moral high ground and tossing about big-govt ideas to save American lives, we should also hold pharma companies liable for the damages they are causing due to their over-prescription and abuse.
