That is a good indicator of taxes paid and a good indicator of population change.

Utah, Texas, and DC had the highest population increase. their taxes are 7.6%, 9.6%, and 10.6%.

If taxes were the top driver of migration, Alaska would have the highest population growth. Many states with low taxes have not gained population above the average growth.
