Kim Anderson spoke about assistant coach Jon Gilliam being put on administrative leave by Pittsburg State University for allegedly directing a racial slur towards a member of the University of Central Missouri coaching staff during a January 12th game.
"Well surprised, obviously..." Anderson began when asked what his reaction was to news of the allegations of Gilliam, who was a member of the Central Missouri men's basketball national championship team in 2014, Coached by Kim Anderson.
"We certainly support Jon," Anderson added, "but at this time I've been advised not to make any comment."
"Well you always hate, not to have one of your family present, and Jon is obviously a member of our family... but our staff did a good job and now we await the investigation and cooperate however we need to cooperate and when it's over, it'll be over. We'll move on."
"I'm not really going to go into any detail. I'm done. I'm done talking about it. We'll let the university (Pittsburg State) do what they need to do and we'll cooperate... and it'll be resolved hopefully in a short period of time."
