reading that over the summer, he struggled with his perimeter shooting. That could certainly be enough to drop him.

I have faith in CM in that regard - look at the shooting improvement in guys like Barnett, Robertson, Ma. Smith, Pickett, Pinson, etc. He and his staff will ensure that Mario develops as an outside threat. It's what they do with guards.
