Mueller is to the right what Sen. McCarthy was to the left.

Both smeared innocent people with guilt by association and digging up unrelated innuendo to torment their victims. One difference is that in Mueller's case, his investigation itself has produced more crimes than it has discovered. However, the main difference is that Sen. McCarthy actually did uncover American communists operating covertly within the Federal Gov't. under the control and orders of the USSR. Mueller has discovered no collusion or conspiracy between a Trump associate and the Russian Gov't. In time, Mueller's witch hunt will become as significant a metaphor for abuse of government power as has Sen. McCarthy.
