Here is an idea - hold actual hearings and hear from experts

Get input from stakeholders. Don't pack the witness panels with political hacks. Examine alternatives and details. Hear from the people whose land would be condemned. Hear from the mayors of communities that are near the border. Hear from merchants and workers that cross the border every day legally. Hear from current and former immigration and border control officials. Invite Mexican officials and stakeholder to provide their input/insights. Are we so sure their ideas are worthless? What does that attitude say about our culture?

I know its a radical idea, but why not try to follow good government practices?
